Where does the apple fall?
Architects are fantastic. They are imaginative. They are visionaries. Architects engulf a society’s needs and expound the soul of our culture with their buildings. And most of the time they are full of themselves. And they want their children to be just like them.

Which, if you are a fairly talented and well–known professional, doesn’t seem like the most selfless thing you can do for your child. Architects, be they known or less so, have always been pretty pushy (either directly or indirectly) regarding what their offsprings should do with their lives. After all, what else could they become, if not the greatest profession in the whole wide world? I’ve recently posted another example of this widely confirmed trend and this time it’s Alvaro Siza’s son who fits the bill. Casa Fez by Alvaro Leite Siza; Porto, Portugal.
