I first laid eyes on Nishizawa’s blob-like model at a conference held in Venice by the Benesse Foundation a couple of years back (Benesse is responsible for an ambitious plan promoting art tourism, through development, in seven islands of the Inland Sea of Japan). The scale model looked particularly odd then, and still does now, even after it has been built and inaugurated.
